Boxing Training for Kids and Teens in Palo Alto
One on one boxing training for kids and teens, ages 10 and up, with Dante Kirkman: Stanford graduate, undefeated pro boxer and USA Boxing Olympic Trialist. Technique, discipline and confidence building, with no contact, ever. Parents are welcome to watch.
What youth training looks like
Every youth session is one on one with Dante, in the private Palo Alto studio, at the Belmont gym, or at your home. There is no sparring and no contact of any kind. Kids and teens hit mitts, bags and pads, learn proper stance and footwork, and build the conditioning and coordination that carry over to every other sport they play. Sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on age and attention span.
Dante started boxing at 10, copying his father, and trained through Palo Alto schools and Stanford while carrying a full academic load. He knows what it is like to be a kid in the gym, and what it takes to balance training with school. He mentors the Stanford Boxing Club and has coached youth in the community for years.
What parents ask
- Will my kid get hit? No. Nobody gets hit. Training is mitts, bags, footwork, technique and conditioning.
- Can I stay? Yes. Parents are welcome to sit in on any session.
- Is it good for a kid who is not athletic? Yes. Most kids start with zero experience and the session is built around where they are.
- What do they bring? Athletic shoes, workout clothes and water. Gloves and wraps are provided.
What kids get out of it
Discipline, focus and confidence that show up at school and in other sports. Real technique rather than a cardio boxing routine. A coach who is a Stanford graduate and a role model, correcting them every round. And a workout they look forward to.
